I like to think that my ability to analyze my motivations, actions, and thoughts has increased as I’ve aged.
Looking back, learning from mistakes, and trying to better oneself are liberating pursuits that provide clarity and demonstrate a more mature perspective.
I’ve found a great deal of solace, as well as a fair amount of progress, in my “quest to question” myself, but - understandably - such self-reflection can often be perceived as second-guessing.
As important as finding wisdom through introspection can be, there is also value in staying resolute and adhering to what you believe is right.
Where is the boundary between the two approaches? If I knew, I’d tell you!
The truth - as so often is the case - rests somewhere in the middle, constantly swaying to and fro in an ongoing effort to achieve balance.
So, what will I do the next time I’m curious as to whether I’m engaging in self-reflection or second-guessing? I guess I’ll have to reflect on that.
